Kazem Jalali:

Iraq’s hosting of Iran-G5+1 talks shows its stability, security

Tehran, May 20, (ICANA) – Spokesman for Iranian parliament’s national security and foreign policy committee Kazem Jalali said Iraq’s hosting of talks between Iran and the 5+1 shows its stability, political security and position both in regional and international arenas.

Jalali said the holding of such a significant meeting in Baghdad proves that the Iraqi administration has been able to successfully manage the country and gain it the due status to host important international meetings.

The parliamentarian referred to holding of the Arab League meeting in Baghdad during which the rotating chairmanship of the important regional grouping was handed over to Iraq as a sign of Iraq’s improving political and security situation in the region.

Despite the reluctance of certain regional countries and their efforts to destabilize Iraq through masterminding and launching terrorist attacks, Jalili added, the meeting between Iran and the Group 5+1 shows the failure of attempts to underscore Iraq’s position.
