Jalali raps West's "contradictory" stance on talks with Iran

Tehran, May 15, (ICANA) – Rapporteur of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Kazem Jalali slammed the western states for adopting contradictory stances towards the Islamic Republic, saying that the West's paradoxical approach towards Tehran has impaired Iranians' trust.

"Unfortunately, we have witnessed contradictory remarks, double-standard attitudes, irresponsible and non-professional statements, two-sided and multi-sided reports, ignorance of legal realities for the sake of a politically-tainted look are the things we have witnessed in the westerners behavior," Jalali said on Tuesday.

And this behavior has seriously damaged Iran's trust in the West, he added.

"The westerners lack a specific strategy and plan to resolve problems between the two sides (Iran and the West), and this seems to have seriously impaired the Iranian nation's trust (in the West)," Jalali said, and asked the West to build Iran's confidence in the upcoming talks due to be held in Baghdad on May 23.

"Any kind of miscalculation by the West will deter success of the Talks," Jalili underlined, and added, "In Baghdad, we will be waiting for the building of the Iranian nation's confidence."
